AWAKENING

Mother Earth stretches and yawns. She wipes the sleep out of her eyes As Sun’s warmth caresses her And kisses her awake.   All of her children rise, too. They inhale Morning’s new fragrance As winter quilts melt away Setting them free once more.   Things that seemed dead come alive. They sing the new
