As I look back on the year that is just passing, I can’t help but to look forward. So many of the treasures I held in my hands Have slipped through my fingers, Or at least changed. I experienced great loss this year; Heart rending and difficult. Even that has transformed me somehow. There isContinue reading “LOOKING FORWARD”

HUNGRY
Hungry for something; I don’t know what, But I really want some. Searching for ideas; I can’t find them, But surely they will come. Hope for the future; I can’t see yet, But tomorrow is here. Wanting some direction; It evades me, But soon it will be clear. Longing for purpose; I don’tContinue reading “HUNGRY”
MAJESTIC
Mountains Adorned in white; Jeweled with diamonds and crystals; Exquisite in their lofty ways; Standing with such grandeur; Taking our breath away In awe as we Contemplate our own smallness.
ONE OLD THING
Put one old thing away; Look for one thing new; Lay down one old lie To pick up something true. Then when you finish sorting; When all is neat and clean; Begin to gather treasures; Start again to dream. Relief from one old pain; One fond memory shared; One friend remembered; Delighted that youContinue reading “ONE OLD THING”

What is your favorite Christmas cookie? Maybe yours isn’t a cookie, but fudge or cheese ball… Or some kind of bread. For that matter, what is your favorite holiday food? Why? THE HURON CAROL
I learned this carol about thirty years ago, but I didn’t know its story. It was written for the Huron People by a Jesuit missionary and is considered to be Canada’s oldest Christmas song. This version really captures the original meaning and heart; enjoy:
SHOPPING ALL THE DAY
Last year, I “amused” people with my “Crunched Up Christmas Carols.” Well, it’s that season again, so… (To the tune of Jingle Bells) Driving through the snow On another shopping day; To the malls we go, Sliding all the way. Bells by each door ring Asking us for cash What fun it is to standContinue reading “SHOPPING ALL THE DAY”
